(ASP) is a Christian ministry, open to all people, that inspires hope and service through volunteer home repair in Central Appalachia. ASP’s goal is to make homes “warmer, safer and drier” for some of the Appalachia’s poorest families. Every year, more than 12,000 youth from around the country come to rural Central Appalachia to help ASP repair homes for low-income families. They bring boundless energy, and spread tons of hope. They may install insulation, repair a porch, or reinforce a foundation but more than this, they forge new friendships. They get to know the families they serve and they come home closer as a church family. This ministry is open to youth who have completed the 8th grade and are 14 years old and their adult advisors. A typical team consists of five youth and two adults. If you have any questions in advance, please email Pat Polilli at patpolilli@verizon.net or speak to her after worship any Sunday.
